Frequently asked questions.

What do I need to bring with me to a session?

We recommend that you bring a bottle of water with you, and a small towel if needed.  You do not need to bring floor mats, or any exercise equipment, as this is provided.

What do I do when I arrive?

When you arrive, head through the garage and out of the back door and follow the path down to the lodge, where there is a shelf to leave your keys and mobile phone and hooks to hang your jackets.  We ask that you tell the trainer that you are on your trial, and they will ensure that they put you next to an experienced member during the session, who will make you feel at ease. 

How long does each session last?

Each session lasts 30 minutes (Saturday session is 45 minutes), and this includes a short warm up and warm down.

How hard is it?

Each session is tailored to every fitness level, and we leave it up to you which weights you choose, and we will always give an easy option or a harder option where possible.

What should I wear?

Gym or other comfortable sports clothing, and a good quality pair of trainers.

Are there changing rooms?

No.  We do not have changing rooms, so please arrive in your workout clothes.  As previously stated, there is somewhere for you to hang up coats/jackets in the lodge.

Where should I park?

If you are attending the 06:15am or 06:45am sessions, then parking is on the drive of the property or the Church car park only, which is only 100 yards away from Freedom.  There is allocated parking on Leslie Road for you to park on for all other sessions.

Do I have to be weighed and measured?

You do not have to be weighed and measured, but if you would like to make use of our Tanita Body Analyser, which measures your complete body composition, taking in factors such as height, weight and muscle mass, to reveal your metabolic age, then mention it to the trainer before the session, and they will be happy to do this for you in complete privacy.

Am I able to rest if needed during the session?

Absolutely.  We encourage you to take short rests throughout the session, when needed.

How do I book or cancel my sessions?

We have a member’s app available on android or Apple app store.  Just search for ‘Freedom Bootcamp’.  All sessions can be booked up to a week in advance on your app.

What is MyZone?

MyZone is a wearable fitness tracker that shows and rewards EFFORT when you work out. It displays real time heart rate, calories and intensity with five colour coded personalised zones and has a simple rewards-based metric called MEPs (MyZone Effort Points).  We have large screens for you to keep track of your MEP’s during sessions.  The data can be displayed collectively for group training or individually direct to your smartphone.  You do not have to use MyZone during your sessions, but we recommend it as it is a great incentive to push yourself that little bit harder!

I am worried I may feel self-conscious.

We pride ourselves on being a friendly and welcoming place, where all the members are non-judgemental, and have all been new members in the past.  We have members of all ages and all abilities.  If you would prefer to have someone to guide you on your first few sessions, then we have members who will happily volunteer to buddy up with you.  Just let us know.

What if I can’t do it?

Don’t worry!  We have huge experience amongst our trainers, helping people of all levels of fitness and capability, and it is natural to be concerned if you haven’t exercised for a while.  We will help you get over that.
